Getting Started

All right. I've finally been persuaded to start a blog.

Ya'll are gonna love being on board this train. I have got the craziest, most adventurous life. And I'm a stay-at-home mom!

The name of our train is the "Dream Catcher." That's because I'm about to be the next person to realize the American Dream. I hope. My book, Walk Beside Me, is at the moment in a publishing house (Wido Publishing). They've finished reading it. They've asked me my marketing plan. They told me they'd get back to me.

LOL. Okay, so it's not as if they've actually offered me a contract or anything. That's why we're just coasting, cruising speed, not going uphill or downhill.

Yesterday I wrote a whole page about my youngest's birthday. He turned one. I'd say I wrote it all down in my journal, but actually I wrote it all down in a letter to his daddy. Because Daddy decided he wanted to be a hero and joined the Army.

I never wanted to be an Army wife.

But we are so proud of Daddy. He's sunburned with blistering feet and chapped lips, doing his part for all of us. We'll think of him while we set off fireworks. We miss you, Daddy!

I'm watching my emails...maybe I'll hear from some publishing company soon!

Tammy,
I'm so proud of you!!! And Mark!!!
Tell him we say "Thank You" for what he is doing for us. And to be careful. And come home safely.
I can't believe you wrote a book! I want to read it! I hope you hear very good news back from them very soon and all your dreams can come true! When it is successful, is it part of a series?
Love you and Hope to see you soon.
Kelly

Em, hilarious. I can't believe you did that.

And Kelly, I'll tell Mark, of course. :) This is why I avoided blogging! Now I will spend all day on here!

I will be so happy for you to read my book! I'll let you know if they accept it for publication...of course!

Em, you're so funny! Why aren't you commenting on my blog? I see how you are. Tammy's the special one. *huffing*

*snort of laughter* Anyway, I just wanted to show my support to Tamara!! You ROCK, baby!!!! WooHoooooo!!!!

I had a hard time starting mine, too. But I'm just keeping mine to writing. I write about...whatever comes up during my research of agents or publishers or the industry or the story--which demons am I going to use in the Demon Talker series. Or how plausible is it have centaurs at highschool in the Kingdom Series--or if I'm having a bad plot day or a great character day or...whatever. Sometimes...okay, most times, I don't know what I'm writing about until I'm midway through.

You'll do FINE!!! You're linked on my blog. *cheesy grin*

And if you go to Layout and then add gadgets, thats where you add links and blog links and...all kinds of stuff. Hey, if I can do it? You can do it. TRUUUUUUUST me!

Frankie,

thanks for the encouragement! one thing at a time...I still got to figure out what I'm going to say on this thing tomorrow. I do plan on using it primarily for my writing stuff.

And please please don't call me Tammy! Kelly can get away w/ it b/c she's known me forever and refuses to conform. :)

Stacie, good to see you, babe! How's your writing going?

Hey! I am very excited to hear your book news. Do I get a special autographed copy?! :-)

And whoo hoo! for being an army wife. You just call/email me if you need to know anything. I feel moderately seasoned as an army wife myself now, so I'm totally there for you if you need someone who understands, or who wants to kill the unit commander, or hates deployments or whatever! It's a crazy life, but there are lots of us around.

Good to hear from you, as always.

Abby Hansen :-)

Of course, of the 150 emails I sent out, I got five visitors. LOL. This is gonna take some work!
