I am tired.
It's been raining a lot, and every time it rains I feel really tired. But I'm also pretty pregnant and I've noticed a huge energy drain lately. So which is it? The rain, or me?
My head is too foggy to think up a real blog post. I've happily been able to get some work done on my latest MS. Rough drafts are hard for me. I just have to plow through them. The first two chapters of this one were especially difficult for me, as I was trying to get my focus back. But by chapter three, I was feeling very into the novel and quite excited to keep going.
Right around then was when the sleepy juices hit me and I had to go to bed. Hopefully I'll get more done today!
On another note, I planted strawberries in my hanging planter. I hope we get some still this season!
Watch for a real blog post tomorrow!

Congrats on the word count! I love when you finally reach the fun part of writing and not the tough patches! I wish you the best of luck!
Good Luck with the strawberries! I need to grab one of the hanging planters, it would be so much fun!
It's not raining in my neck of the woods but I do feel drained, more or less from the ridiculous sunburn I gained over the weekend! I hope some energy hops back into your system, though babies do take a lot out of you!
Thanks, Jen! I'm feeling so huge too! Still two more months! I love my hanging planter. I love looking outside my window and seeing it!
I would say it's a combo of the rain (most people feel that way), and pregancy can really drain the energy level (I have 3 kids, so I know). Um, I hate to tell you this, but it doesn't get much better for the few months. With # 2, I was a zombie. Not with #1. He was 3 month premature, and spent 10 weeks in NICU. That meant I had plenty of time to sleep. But you know what? It's not all that bad. The exhaustion you're feeling now is your body's way of preparing you for when the baby comes. Think of it as training for a marathon. ;)
Congrats on the new ms. I don't like writing the first draft. I'm more into editing. That's when the fun begins for me. Things really start to take shape, and new ideas hit. :D
I'm totally like you, Stina. I love editing. I feel like I get tons of fresh ideas when I'm revising, but getting through that first draft just pulls everything out of me!
And don't worry. I don't expect there to be any surprises with this baby. It is #3, after all! :) I remember the post-pregnancy tiredness!
Strawberries sound good right now!
Congrats on plowing through. I must say, I love writing first drafts. It's the intense editing that makes my brain ache.
Great photo of the rain. Let's blame your tiredness on that, even though it is probably more likely to be cutie #3. I'm sure you'll get strawberries, so long as the birds don't steal em. :)
cool word count thingie. I like the visual. 10% is great!
Tallie: i wish I loved rough drafts! They seriously wear me out.
Elisa, yeah, 10% is getting somewhere! We can sure hope this #3 is a cutie! (PS you're all set for Florida, right?)
#3?? No wonder you feel a little tired! WOW! Where do you find the time to write? You are awesome!
Being pregnant can be pretty draining. Make sure you're taking care of the two of you! That's the most important thing of all :)
@TerryLynn--naptime!!! that's when I get my writing done! That's why I only have like 1-2 hours a day!
Thanks Jemi! Don't worry--I think I took two naps today. Now I'm vegging at my mom's house. :)
Yep, it's been raining a l o t!
Blue skies appeared this afternoon, so maybe summer is really coming.
@Kathi, we're getting rain like twice a day! But it did clear up long enough yesterday for me to take the boys swimming. Today it's raining again!
Hey Tamara! I sat next to you at the Whitney Awards. Just wanted to say congrats--on being preggo! I didn't know. Congrats on writing, too!
Oh, I'm thrilled that you didn't notice I was pregnant! I had so much fun at the Whitneys. What an awesome program that was. Thanks for stopping by!
