Ex-Army Wife

I am no longer an army wife.

Isn't it exciting???

Before you start to wonder what's happened, the short, simple, and sweet is that my husband came home last night FOR GOOD. He's not on leave. He's not visiting. He's not ACTIVE. My husband is a civilian again.

While we've seen him several times since his deployment a year ago, there was a different feeling all day yesterday knowing that he was really coming home this time. For the first time ever, he's moving into this house and he's going to live here with us (we moved into the house the same day he got activated last May). Yet I know we were one of the lucky ones, because we got to have him home on leave many times since his deployment.

Thank you, Uncle Sam, for letting his service be over!

Now I need to scrape the bumper stickers off the back of my car. Or maybe just put on a new one.

Wow. I SO remember by husband's last day in the Army. When he got out, we looked back and he'd been gone more than half the time he was in. That's too much time away for someone like me.

CONGRATULATIONS!

That is SO, SO wonderful, Tamara! I'm SO happy for both of you, and for your sweet little children. Hooray for the end of that part of your lives!

Jen sends her love, too.

I've set up a WordPress blog and am hoping some Bloggers will follow me. I'll still be minimally on Blogger, though, but I love everything about WordPress.

Congrats! While I don't have a husband in the military, I do have friends and family who serve. What a great feeling to have them around again after a deployment.

Hip Hip Hooray! I didn't realize he'd be home for good "already" (I'm sure it seems like it has been longer to you). How is he adjusting back to civilian life? Is he feeling mundane and bored?
