Sunshine Day!

I love days like today.

Days when the sun is shining. Through the giant windows in my living room, I can see wind blowing the bare branches. Birds are chirping and flying through the air, a pale blue sky setting the scene behind them.

Spring.

It's the BEST.

Suddenly I find myself more at peace with the dirty dishes, the rice all over the table, the 2-year-old kicking the bedroom door instead of taking his nap. I find myself more willing to overlook the six pairs of boots and pants that somebody left on my bedroom floor, more willing to forget about the people who took three hours to answer the phone at the health department.

I'm getting excited, thinking about flying kites and taking walks and going to the zoo. I want to get out and play with my children, feel the sunshine on my arms.

I think I am a better, happier person in the spring.

For those of you who had to bear with me in the winter...I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you.

And you? What's your favorite season? Happy for spring??

I think I'm the opposite of everyone else. The warmer and clearer it gets outside, the less I like it! I love cold snowy rainy days...I think I should move to Washington!

I feel the same way. Sure wish it felt like spring here in Utah. Rain rain, go away! LOL

I'm absolutely a new soul when winter ends and the green arrives. Congrats, we made it.

I'm with you, Tamara. I feel so much more optimistic when spring arrives. It's beginning to blossom also here in Virginia.

BTW, I think this post is some of your best writing. Lean and compelling prose. It's perfect!

Thank you, Ann! Funny how that happens sometimes!

Yes, Meg, totally remembering why I LOVE ARKANSAS!

Jamie--you're weird. :)

Melissa, Utah will at some point also experience spring. Maybe it won't be until July...but it will happen!

It's been the craziest warm winter in Colorado ever. (I don't know the stats, I just know it's warm.) It feels like it's been Spring for two months already. I've got flowers blooming in my backyard for goodness sake. Bring it on!
It Just Got Interesting
