Busy Work for All!

Okay! I'm out of breath just thinking about everything I have going on this month. Where's my cheerleading squad? Ready for some support? Here we go!

Exciting news for all is that we're MOVING!!! We are fortunate enough to have found a lovely townhouse, bigger than where we live now and much closer to hubby's work. We've started moving stuff over and should be completely moved in the next two weeks. Yay for us!

I'm working on my SYNOPSIS for White as Snow. I've avoided querying all agents that ask for a synopsis because I don't have one. So, I signed up for the synopsis workshop on Writing.com, and by the end of this month (if I do my homework) I'll have a synopsis! (This is free, btw. You just have to join and know how to find the workshop. Ask if you're interested.)

I'm also putting aside all other projects and starting a new one. I need a BREAK so I'm going to write a new novel. I have so many spinning around in my head, and I don't know when I'll hear back from my editor. Plus it will give all those agents a chance to ask for partials and then fight over me. :) So by the end of this month, I should have another under my belt! I hope!

And I'm finally getting a WEBSITE up. Luckily I'm not designing this, just paying for it. Hee hee. It might take longer than a month. Or it might not!

But that's MY work. Here's what I've got for you guys.

1) We're at 131 followers! That means I'm less than 20 away from 150. I still don't know what the prize will be, but there'll be a special megaprize for both Follower 150 and whoever brought Follower 150 to my blog.

2) Comments have been waning. Yawn. What good does it do me to have 131 followers but only six comments??? I want to hear from you guys! So, now there's an incentive. As part of MOVING, I'm discovering lots and lots of books. Some I've read, some I haven't, but most I don't need anymore. So, every time you comment during the month, you will be entered into a contest for a book. I haven't decided yet if I'll choose the book or let the winner choose. But that's ONE ENTRY for EVERY COMMENT. There, now you have a reason to comment!

I think that's it. More later!

What are your grandioso plans for this month?

You've got almost ten times more followers than I do, so don't be so vain. J/k

I'm commenting. I don't have anything else to say.

Oo....but I do have stuff to ask: Are you following my blog?

I don't know, T.J.! I've been there, but I didn't see a follow button. Let me check it out again and see if I can figure out how to follow.

Congrats on the move. I can't wait to see the website and I'll be interested in that query writing workshop in a few months. So I'll be asking. :)

Have fun, I hate moving, though there is an excitement of being in a new place.

Just whenever I move again I wnat itto be for a LONG time because moving 5,000 books isn't easy-heck maybe 6,000 by the time I do move.

Hi! Way to go on the followers that's fantastic, you're moving up there!!

Have fun moving! Sounds fantastic, I am looking for townhomes and homes for rent at the end of the year, I love my place right now but it's expensive and not my style anymore!

Good luck with the synopsis, I die with those!

Hey, I'd like to know about that synopsis class.
What a fun way to get more comments! I'll have to try something like that sometime.
Good luck with the move. It's a big job.
If David J. West moves, he could get thousands more comments on his blog! ;)

Ha ha,I know, MT! I thought of that. David doesn't have to hold onto all those books!

We used to think we needed all of them...I still have all my college text books (don't worry, I won't be giving those away).I'm also finding garage sales to be great places to pick up books.

I really hate moving, but the end result is so worth it. Good luck!

so what's this townhouse like?

Tamara Hart Heiner said...

Oh, I know, Jennifer! I've gotten quite used to it, and this will be our easiest move yet because we have a month to do it.

Hey Em! Let's see, it's an older townhouse, I think built in the 1960s. It's an attached unit on one side. It's two-story, 1800 sq. ft, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, kitchen, dining room, living room, family room, laundry room. It's awesome! He's got another one available down the street...if you're interested! :)

I love what you are doing. I so wish that I could write a few books. I did some short stories when I was in high school and people did not like them at all. Not even sure that I would be able to find the ones that I started. Good luck on the move and the new little one. Talk with you soon.

ooh, so there with the moving thing. We moved on the weekend, so my plan for May is to get everything unpacked and sorted.

hooray on the townhouse! nice that you don't have to rent a uhaul or anything to move. Gradual moving is the best.

Congrats on the moving! I'm glad you found a house you like.

My grandiose plan for the month is to finally finish up version 2.0 of my current WIP. Rewriting the end took way more time than I thought it would, dash it all. I need to get this draft done then cleanse my palate with a different project.

Your enthusiasm is rubbing off on me. I have too many things going on right now, I can't get to my writing. (I know, excuses, excuses!) I hope to clear my crazy schedule in a week or so. That's when my work deadline will be done.

Good luck getting moved. I don't envy you in that. I hate moving. But I love the "starting fresh" feeling that comes with it.

Dominique--ugh, writing endings is hard. I really don't like them. I really don't like the ending to another book I wrote. Writing the synopsis is hard b/c I feel like it shouldn't end that way. But I don't know how it should!

Kim--yes, it's definitely the best spring cleaning I've ever done!

Me...I'm just overwhelmed with revision right now. I'm trying to shorten my word count on a few manuscripts. On others, I'm doing my best to just improve them. It is agonizing and painful right now but I love the end result. It's all in the name of fun and adventure. So day to day, I'm pressing forward with it all in hopes of making my dream come true. Anyone willing to comment and give me insight feel free to visit me at www-a-pen-in-neverland.blogspot.com

It's always fun to move into a new home! Hubby and I are looking for a bigger home as well.
