The 12 Days of Christmas (Cookies)

One of my favorite things about Christmas is the cookies. Yummy yummy cookies, and lots of them. But I always end up making like four batches in one day, and then I'm burnt out and covered in cookies.

The phrase "The 12 Days of Christmas" kept going through my head, and I didn't know if the song was stuck in my head or if there was something I wanted to do for the 12 days leading up to Christmas. Finally, the two desires coalesced and BINGO! We have the 12 Days of Christmas Cookies.

How it works is, starting on the 12th of December and going until Christmas Eve, I'm going to make a batch of cookies. I'm way excited! And just for kicks, I'll also post the recipe online a day ahead of time. In case anyone else wants to play! I'll get an ingredient list up also.

This way I get all my cookies, we have yummies every day, and I'm not doing too much in any one day!

Anyone want to join in the fun?

Wednesday's blog tour is here!

Yum! I love Christmas cookies. I make two kinds, one my grandma's recipe and the other, the kind my mom used to make (she just "lets" me make them year after year now). Enjoy your yummy 12 days of Christmas!

(I'm back! Got a brand new laptop! Let me know if I can still help out with the blog tour! I know it's late and all...)

I can't bake to save my life! thank goodness for Betty Crocker cake mixes! I also love the cookie dough in the tube! Makes me feel like a real baker!

That's an awesome idea! I wish I had time to bake cookies every day. We usually make a gingerbread house from scratch between Christmas and New Year. Fun, fun!

Make sure one of them is a Snickerdoodle recipe, to enter Tania's baking contest on the forum!

sounds like a lot of fun... but I'll be honest, I am not the biggest fan of cookies. if I did it, I'd be doing it for Eric since he LOVES them. I'd rather do the 12 days of savory hors doeuvres like cheeseballs, salsas, bacon wrapped dates, ham pinwheels, jalapeno poppers, etc etc. I could fill up on just holiday finger foods!

we're cookie people here! Actually deserts in general. I just have to limit myself a bit, or we'll have too many cakes and pies. Just bought a new pie cookbook! So excited!

If I lived nearby I'd come by and pick up some of your excess Christmas cookies--love homemade cookies. I don't have any recipes and I don't make cookies, but just buy them at the store.

I was glad to have hosted today's stop on your book tour.

This sounds like loads of fun! I've only gotten two batches done so far and could certainly use the encouragement, too. Did you decorate those in the picture? If so, I want to know your secret. :)
